Well good news! I have installed a SCSI CD-ROM and told the controller it was bootable and I am now doing an installation of FreeBSD directly from the CD-ROM :) Thanks for all the help folks! And thanks to George Adkins for his hints with the SCSI CD-ROM Mike N
