Oh, I forgot to add, Librettos are expensive, due to the size factor. mid-size laptops from about 5 years ago are really nicely priced, IMHO...

In October, the wife and I are taking a rather lengthy roadtrip during
which we hope to take hundreds of photos.  We'll be using a digital
camera for snapshots and a nice SLR for everything else.

As we'll be camping most of the way and won't have security or power,
I'd like to avoid carrying my thinkpad A20.  It's light and fun, but I
don't want to risk losing it.  Not to mention the $99 car charger cost.

Yes, I could get it covered by my homeowner's insurance, but I would
rather not risk losing it at all.

Anyway, I'm considering just buying a ton of smartmedia and not dumping
anything to a computer until we return.  However, we'd like to see some
of the shots on something other than the LCD before we drive off, just
to see if we need better lighting, etc.

I think some cheap and very light PC would do me well, and just consider 
it a potentially lost item.  Does anyone still make 486-based Librettos
or PC104 machines?  Even 8bit display would be better than nothing, and
I'd rather not risk even the cost of a cheap color PDA or something.
I'm talking $150 and less.

Any ideas?
