Yes actually.  The _only_ difference is the screen.  That's why you
can use a 540c screen on a 520.  All the control circuitry is in the
screen panel itself.  There might be some notes somewhere on
www.lowendmac.com but you probably have to do a Google search on it.

Regardless I've heard of people doing it.
