[geeks] desperation is the mother of invention

i've been trying for about 8 months now to convince the head bitch (that's
bill, in case anyone has their head in the sand) that he needs to take a
family vacation. so far, the main problem is that he thinks (rightly so)
that if he's more than a few days away from his precious machines that the
sky will fall.

so, while looking at geekcruises.com it occurs to me that there might be a
compromise here. geekcruises basically offers weeklong conventions (with
lectures, etc) on a cruise ship--it has satellite net access--at sea.
problem is their cruises arent the most employer-happy or very
intellectual in the world, at least for a solaris admin (they offer
a very popular linux cruise but not a solaris one)...

so i figure, why not pester the guy who does geekcruises to offer a
solaris based cruise. you single guys could go and mack on the
unsuspecting single women and the married husbands can semi-rest knowing
your wives are occupied and pampered. plus, you can see the sights of the
caribbean in relative style without the fear of going stark raving crazy.

my question is, would anyone out there find this interesting or
acceptable? would any of y'all like to lecture on such a cruise? what
would your wives or kids think? ask them! they *will* make compromises,
even if they (seemingly) just put up with your hobbies and such.
