Heh. I'd seen some of the earlier prototypes of Ginger. He's been
working on it for almost ten years. I first rode one four years ago.
Last rode one nine months ago. The first of them were rather flops, but
what he has now is rather intriguing in that it actually does work. I
used to live just down the street from Dean, in Bedford, NH. There have
been a number of times when he has almost blown his house up. He is a
rather strange individual. Always wears denim shirt and jeans... always.
He has two helicopters, which he takes to and from work every day. Mind
you, Manchester is only about 20 miles from Bedford... He has a rather
large wind turbine behind his house that provides power for the house.
He didn't particularly make many friends in the neighborhood when this
went up, as its quite... visible. He has done a lot for Manchester,
though. He's turned the old Amoskeag mill buildings into R&D centers,
populated by, among others: Texas Instruments, Autodesk, Teletrol,
Honeywell, DEKA (of course), etc etc.

Unfortunately, it will most likely be a while before these will be a)
accepted as somewhat normal, and b) affordable.
