It never even really got going here in/around Toronto.  The idiots who
had the time and money to build packet infrastructure didn't have the
brains to figure out what to do with it beyond logging into their buddy
down the street's BBS (i.e. one user on the network at a time).

Of course those same guys don't really know what to do with the Internet
either, so go figure....
