General Description This patch contains an updated driver for the WD8003/WD8013 network adapter cards. The updated driver corrects an error in the handling of "loopback" messages that sometimes caused garbled messages to be sent to loopback destinations (note: only the loopback copy of the message was affected) and also an error that precluded concurrent use of the driver by both the IPX and an OSI stack because messages intended for one would be erroneously directed to the other. 2. New Features None 3. Software Notes and Recommendations This patch should be installed on all UnixWare 1.1.1, 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 systems which have the WD8003/WD8013 (wd) driver installed. This patch requires UnixWare Update 1.1.1, 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 and the wd driver to be installed on the system. The package will NOT install if the required system configuration is not present. 4. Hardware Notes and Recommendations None 5. Installation Instructions Depending on the format: If this PTF was delivered on a diskette, then (as "root") pkgadd -d diskette1 should install this patch. Otherwise, if you have a file such as "ptf171" which is in a "stream" format, then (as "root") pkgadd -d /ptf171 will work. After installing this patch, a system reboot will be needed to rebuild the kernel and incorporate the updated driver(s).
